Alcalali is an ideal place to practice outdoor sports because of the climate and orography


You can get to know the district of Alcalali by participating in the hiking route Alcalalí Coll de Rates.

This tour is a great option to approach the culture and landscape heritage of the town and valley.

It is a tour approved by the FEMEC and is marked clearly. It is a circular route with a distance of 10,570 metres and a slope of 395 metres.

It is estimated that the hike can be completed in approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes and the level of difficulty is medium-low.

Another proposed route that will allow you to experience our history and heritage is the “Piedra y Agua” (“Stone and Water) route. It is a lineal route, which runs along the riverbed of the river Gorgos. The area is declared as a Site of Community Importance (SCI) and links the towns in the Valle of Pop, from Benissa to Benigembla. This tour adds value to the architectural and hydraulic heritage of our towns and offers the visitor a unique landscape.

In Alcalali you can start this route in Terrer viewpoint, either towards Parcent or towards Jalón. The 19.5 km route can be covered in an estimated time of 5 hours and 50 minutes and the level of difficulty is very low.

Cycling, either on the mountain or the road, is very common practice.

It is common to find groups of cyclists at the Alcalali ascend road.

The town has three mountain bike routes properly marked and of different intensity levels.

The different routes mentioned are suitable for both beginners and experts and their journey introduces the rich landscape of our territory.

An information panel is located at the entrance to the town and the three routes start at this point, all the routes are circular.

In the sports centre of Alcalali you can find a wide range of sports to keep fit.

In this facility there is a semi Olympic swimming pool and another swimming pool for children. Both are open during summer, normally from the 15th of May to the 15th of September. The sports centre also has a court wall and an outdoor sports centre that allows the practice of outdoor sports throughout the year. For older residents there is a fitness park with passive gymnastic devices and a multigame park for the young ones.

There is also a gym in the sports centre. It is a newly built construction and is currently being updated in order to be used as soon as possible.
