Culture and Education

CULTURE:

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The City Council promotes cultural, festive and entertainment activities throughout the year. These events are organised in collaboration with Excma Provincial Council of Alicante and with Marina Alta Cultural Community.

Due to particular dates such as Christmas, Easter, 9th of October, saint celebrations, etc., the Council organises theatre performances, concerts, workshops, exhibitions and drawing competitions etc. aimed at all types of audiences. The town also has an associative movement that organises various interesting activities. At the annual cultural program we can find, among many events, mosaic, philosophy, dance or astronomy classes etc.

The Council operates with the donation of the required classrooms from the Civic Centre and the Multipurpose Building.

EDUCATION:

In the municipality of Alcalali we have a Primary School, named “CRA Terra de Riuraus”, with a total of 40 students who are studying pre-school education until 6th course of elementary education (form 3 to 11 years old). The school has a meal canteen service.

Throughout the year various cultural activities and trips are carried out along with other schools and nearby districts.

During the last quarter of the school year, two theatre performances are taking place. One from the elementary group and the other from the primary group.

During the year, the Council organises courses depending on the demand and training needs of the residents. Most of the courses are organised in order to provide basic knowledge and to ease the integration into the labour force or to improve knowledge. In general, the courses take place in the I.T. room located on the second floor of the old City Hall or in the training classroom of the Multipurpose Building.
