RESIDUES MANAGEMENT

The community of Vall de Pop has assumed jurisdiction over the management of residues.

The company Generala performs the collection service. The schedule of waste collection is as follows:

• Urban solid waste: daily, except Sunday.
• Selective collection: packaging, paper and cardboard are collected two days a week.
• Furniture collection-goods: collected on a weekly basis.

DISTRICT ECO PARK

The Council offers the Eco Park to residents. It is an installation that allows the selective collection of residues for which there is no domiciliary collection service. This service is provided free of chargeand and exclusive for registered and residents in Alcalalí. In the Eco Park the following items may be deposited: glass, cardboard, plastic, metal, batteries, oils, wood, rubble and textiles.

It's prohibited to pour:

• Items containing Asbestos (Uralita)
• Automotive oils

The Eco Park offers the following advantages:

• Reduce the environmental impact by reducing the volume and hazard of waste that would otherwise be deposited in a dumping site.
• Avoid uncontrolled dumping of waste in the environment of the city.
• It contributes to sustainable development by avoiding the waste of existing resources in the domiciliary residues.
• It allows the active participation of citizens in the management of municipal resources.

The opening hours of the Ecoparc and the composter in 2019 are:

Monday and wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In order to undertake recycling of used batteries, they can be deposited in the City Council and also in the doctor’s office, from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

The municipal pharmacy has a SIGRE point for drug recycling.

For recycling clothes in good condition you may come to the container located at the beginning of Porche road, in front of Almazara and Casa Abadía, located in the Town Hall Square.

COVENANT OF MAYORS

Covenant of mayors is an ambitious initiative of the European Commission bringing together the mayors of the most innovative cities of Europe in a permanent network of exchange of good practices and implementation across these cities and beyond in order to improve energy efficiency in the urban environment.

Covenant of mayors is the response of the most active cities involved in the global warming issue: a formal commitment of the cities to reduce CO2, even surpassing the 20% European Union objective.

The adherence to the covenant of mayors by Alcalali council implies certain obligations and requires actions.

Among other obligations and commitments the development of Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) stands out and the preparation of baseline inventory of SEAP emissions.

The Baseline emission inventory (BEI) quantifies the amount of CO2 emitted from energy consumption in the territory of the local authority, in the reference year, considered 207. IER is the starting point for the implementation of the Sustainable Energy Action Plan.
